Glam Media Ltd. (“We”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy (together with our Terms of Use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Glam Media Ltd., whose registered office is at 24 Great King Street, Edinburgh EH3 6QN.

We own and operate this website (the “Site”) and other websites focused on women, men, and social media consumers (collectively the “Glam Media Sites”). We also operate an advertising network consisting of websites to which we may deliver advertising.

That advertising network consists of the Glam Media Sites, and websites owned by third-party publishers displaying Glam Media branding and/or Glam Media logos (collectively, “Affiliated Sites”; together with the Glam Media Sites, the “Glam Media Network”). We may, from time to time, also deliver advertising to websites owned by third-party publishers that are not part of the Glam Media Network (“Non-Affiliated Sites”).  The advertising may be delivered by GlamAdapt or another ad serving technology that provides ad delivery and reporting across various websites, including the Glam Media Network and Non-Affiliated Sites (as defined below).

This Privacy Policy applies to (i) the collection of information on the Glam Media Sites that link to or display this Privacy Policy and the use of that information, (ii) the collection of information on the Affiliated Sites and the use of that information when you view ads from our advertisers, and (iii) the collection of information on the Non-Affiliated Sites and the use of that information when you view ads from our advertisers.


We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on the Site. This includes information provided at the time of completing a registration form on the Site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion sponsored by Glam Media Limited, and when you report a problem with the Site.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of your visits to the Site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data and the resources that you access.


We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

How We Use Cookies

We may use “cookies” on the Glam Media Network and on Non-Affiliated Sites to passively collect or log certain information about your general internet usage which is stored on your browser, the hard drive of your computer, or other handheld or mobile device. The cookie identifier associated with your browser is the same cookie identifier used when you visit websites in the Glam Media Network and Non-Affiliated Sites. We may also use cookies for informational purposes, for example, to store our customers’ preferences for certain kinds of products or to serve advertisements tailored to a customer’s preferences. The cookies will not collect or store information that will enable anyone to contact you via telephone, post, e-mail, or any other means.

Third Party Cookies

Third parties including advertising networks and advertisers may also serve ads throughout the Glam Media Network and Non-Affiliated Sites. These third parties may also use their own cookies. We do not control these cookies or the data collection practices of these companies. We use information held about you to provide relevant, targeted advertising and improve Glam Media Ltd.’s advertising technology; monitor website traffic; collect statistical data; determine the effectiveness of advertisements and content; and collect data across multiple websites to categorize likely consumer interest segments for use in online behavioural advertising. We may track visits to the Glam Media Network and this information may be used over time to help predict your likely interests as a consumer and select the advertising content you see. We may also use anonymous information that we obtained from GlamAdapt, third-party ad serving technologies, and the Glam Media Network to provide aggregate information about our users to our advertisers.  We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers.

At present, any data we collect from you is stored in the United Kingdom. However, that data may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside of the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.


We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If Glam Media Ltd. or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Glam Media Ltd., our customers, or others.


Glam Media Sites may contain links to third-party sites, which are maintained by third parties. Please be aware that We not responsible for and cannot control the privacy policies of these other linked sites or their practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policies on these sites for applicable privacy practices relating to information you may choose to provide in interacting with these websites and the information collected through the use of cookies and other technologies via those sites because they may differ from Glam Media Ltd.’s privacy practices.


The Site is not aimed at children. If you are aged 18 years or under, you must be under the supervision of an adult if you are looking at the content on the Site.


You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.


We reserve the right to change, or modify, any portion of this, or any other policy, from time to time without prior notice and any changes will become effective immediately upon being posted unless you are advised otherwise. We encourage you to refer to this Privacy Policy from time to time to stay abreast of our most current privacy policy practices.
